2025 Community Day and Bike Giveaway

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Equity Alliance of Michigan hosted its annual Community Day & Bike Giveaway — a vibrant celebration that marked the start of summer and brought families, neighbors, and friends together for a day filled with laughter, connection, and community pride. The event was more than just free food, games, and a bounce house; it was an opportunity to launch the summer season with joy and purpose. By giving away nearly 300 bikes to children who were registered and present, the Alliance empowered its youth to enjoy the warm months ahead with healthy, active play and safe neighborhood adventures.

Beyond the thrill of the bike giveaway, families also enjoyed a lively community bike ride through the neighborhood, music and good vibes, and plenty of opportunities to build new friendships and strengthen old ones. Community Day reflected Equity Alliance of Michigan’s mission to uplift Detroit families, celebrate the spirit of our neighborhoods, and create safe, supportive spaces for everyone to thrive. After the bikes were distributed, guests gathered to ride the Joe Louis Greeway, laugh, and build a stronger community, one neighbor at a time.
